Airport tariffs at six Brazilian airports will be cheaper from January 1st, informed the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) this Thursday (1st).
The new fares will apply to Galeão (RJ), São Gonçalo do Amarante (RN), Guarulhos and Viracopos (SP), Confins (MG) and Brasília airports.
The reduction is based on legislation sanctioned in June. “The Simple Flight Law promoted the extinction of the contributions corresponding to the former ATAERO to level the conditions of competition and give adequate treatment to airports that have higher tariffs because of a taxation that has already been extinguished”, said Anac in a press release.
Airport fees are amounts paid to terminal concessionaires by airlines, the aircraft operator or the passenger.
Galeão, Guarulhos, Viracopos, Confins and Brasília airports had domestic and international boarding tariffs reduced by around 26%. In São Gonçalo do Amarante there was a cut of approximately 18%.
