Businessman Alexandre Corrêa asked for separation from presenter Ana Hickmann. Corrêa’s defense also asked the court for the right to visit his son and have access to his and the company’s finances.
Enio Murad, lawyer representing the businessman, claims that the couple’s fight that took place on the 11th, and that the presenter filed a police report for domestic violence, was a disagreement and denies that his client attacked his wife. “It was an accident with the door that hurt Ana Hickmann.” The lawyer concludes by stating that the “client is being judged in advance by public opinion”.
Corrêa and Hickmann have had no further contact since the case was revealed. On Thursday (23), the businessman was surprised by a search and seizure of his apartment. The police reportedly received a complaint that Alexandre was carrying a weapon without authorization.
Murad clarifies that the information that Hickmann’s then-husband had a firearm is unfounded, that having his “apartment broken into by the police without justification” would have been the trigger for filing for divorce.
It was only on Friday (24) that the businessman found out about the protective measure, which prevents him from seeing his son, managing his companies and removing his personal belongings from the house where he lived with his family.
Until the divorce process is concluded, the assets are divided and custody of the child is defined, Corrêa asks the Court to allow him to see his son twice a week and regain access to his assets in order to support himself, as his source of income comes from the companies Hickmann Serviços LTDA. He is a partner and owns 50% of the company.
The defense says that the now ex-couple’s assets were built together over the 25 years of their relationship and that Corrêa is entitled to half of the assets.
Regarding the debts that total almost R$8 million, Murad says that there is an exaggeration regarding the facts. “Every company faces problems of this nature.” He concludes by saying that “the group’s companies generate a lot of work and wealth for Brazil”.
CNN contacted the presenter Ana Hickmann’s advisor, who chose not to speak.
