The presenter Ana Furtado, 49 years old, told her followers this Friday (1st) on Instagram that there is only one month left to be “completely cured of cancer”.
While waiting for the plane to take off towards New York, in the United States, with her husband, director Boninho, Ana published a video to tell the news.
“On the first of September, I’m here on a flight, I’m going to New York, on vacation and I wanted to share with you something that is extraordinary. I have a month to go before I finish taking my hormone blocker and be considered fully cured. Victory there, close by, a month”, celebrated.
In the caption, Ana reinforced the achievement. “Victory is right there. I see her close, close… I always have. And I’m sure it’s already mine, ”she wrote.
Friends and celebrities of the presenter celebrated through the comments. “Glory to God in the name of Jesus, amen”, thanked Tatá Werneck. “Wow! What a special date. We are already celebrating”, celebrated Marcos Mion.
In 2018, Ana Furtado discovered a tumor in her breast, which led her to undergo surgery to remove it and, subsequently, chemotherapy sessions.
Other artists recently diagnosed with cancer
In recent years, the Brazilian art scene has been impacted by the cancer diagnoses of some well-known personalities. Other celebrities, such as Ana Furtado, are also undergoing treatment for the disease.
Singer Preta Gil, 49, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in January this year. In March, the singer suffered septicemia, the result of an infection by the chemotherapy catheter, in which she underwent four hours of loss of consciousness, resuscitation and 20 days in the ICU.
On August 13th, the artist was admitted to the Sírio-Libanês Hospital, where she underwent a series of preoperative exams for the surgical procedure performed on Thursday (16th).
On Sunday (20), the singer spoke for the first time after the surgery – which lasted 14 hours – and which required a total abdominal hysterectomy, removal of the uterus.
“Hi, my loves. I’m here recovering from an extensive and complex surgery that lasted more than 14 hours, in which the tumor was removed, as well as a total abdominal hysterectomy. I am being well cared for by the doctors. Special thanks to the entire warrior team. Now it’s one day at a time!!! Today I managed to sit down and I’m still here fighting. God, everything is right,” she wrote on Instagram.
With an intestinal obstruction, however, Preta had to use a tube in her nose again.
“As we have the ileostomy bag, the traffic was all diverted. It turns out that I had an intestinal obstruction, which felt like constipation. The feces did not go into the bag, they accumulated, and that made me feel sick, vomit ”, she explained.
Singer Simony discovered the disease in August last year. According to oncologist Fernando Maluf, the cancer was an epidermoid, discovered after the singer identified a ganglion in the groin area and performed a colonoscopy. The tumor was located at the end of the intestine, close to the anus.
She finished a first stage of chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions in December 2022, but had to resume treatment at the end of May this year.
In June, however, Simony announced that her bowel cancer is in remission. “Today I did the last exam, there is nothing left. God God God gratitude,” she said in an Instagram post.
“Today, with the cancer in remission, I am reborn with a new perspective on life. I learned to value each moment, to enjoy each moment intensely and to be grateful for each small victory”, he said.
Because she was cured of the same cancer that Preta Gil treats, Simony decided to visit her in the hospital in an emotional encounter.
“I love you. I’m here forever. Live our life, our remission”, he celebrated, sharing two records alongside Preta.
“I’m very happy. We were never close, but now it seems that you are a piece of my heart”, ended Simony in tears.
Recently, in August, singer Jorge Aragão was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Cancer affects lymphocytes, cells responsible for protecting the body from infections.
In the last week, however, his advisory reported that the sambista is reacting well to the treatment. “The artist has been responding well to the treatment and is undergoing this first follow-up at the hospital just as a medical precaution. Aragão is expected to be discharged for the weekend and all his exams show excellent results,” said the note.
