The live version of “Alibi”, a hit by Iranian singer Sevdaliza in partnership with French singer Yseult and Brazilian drag queen Pabllo Vittar, was released on Wednesday (21).
The video, announced on Monday (19), was recorded at Vevo studios in London and was made available on Sevdaliza’s YouTube account. In addition to featuring rawer and less effect-laden voices from the trio that conquered the world, the new version also shows dance moments, reminiscent of the trend that was a hit on social media.
Sevdaliza’s song gained traction on social media thanks to a sample of a traditional Colombian song (“Rosa”, by Totó La Momposina), used to compose its chorus (“Rosa, que linda eres”) and which serves as a “bed” for the repetition of “Alibi”, the title of the song. It also became the anthem of Rosamaria, opposite number of the Brazilian women’s volleyball team, at the Paris Olympic Games.

The song went viral on social media, reached Spotify’s global top 15 and made Pabllo become the first Brazilian drag queen — and the third in history — to have a song on the Billboard Hot 100, the main music chart in the United States.
This Thursday (22), “Alibi” occupies the 20th place in Spotify’s global ranking and accumulated 3.2 million views in the last 24 hours computed by the platform. In total, the hit already has 186 million plays.
