Actor Alec Baldwin shared with his followers a photo of the last day of recording for “Rust”, this Tuesday (16). The attitude caused controversy on the web because of the tragedy that marked the production of the film.
In October 2021, Alec Baldwin accidentally shot himself while recording the feature. The film’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, was shot and died. The prop gun was loaded with ammunition, not blank bullets.
In January 2023, the actor and the gunsmith responsible for the film, Hanna Gutierrez-Reed, were charged with involuntary manslaughter, a crime similar to “manslaughter” in Brazilian law.
However, in April, new information emerged in the case and prosecutors rejected the charges of involuntary manslaughter against the actor. The decision was taken after new evidence indicated that the weapon used in the shooting had been modified. The allegations against Hannah Gutierrez were not changed.
The recordings of “Rust” went back 18 months after the accidental shooting. The actor shared a photo with his co-star on the last day of filming for the film. On Instagram, Alec recorded the moment smiling alongside Patrick Scott McDermott and left a message for the young actor.
“Last day on ‘Rust’ with this guy. A very talented actor and a lovely young man with a bright future ahead of him,” he wrote in the caption.
