Greeks see elections by October at the latest, according to the Alco poll on behalf of OPEN, which shows New Democracy leading SYRIZA and the country’s economic situation judging the citizens’ vote.
The ruling party maintains a lead of 8.5 percentage points over the official opposition. In the intention to vote on the valid ones, New Democracy collects 30.2% and SYRIZA 21.7%. They are followed by PASOK/KINAL with 12.4%, KKE with 5.2%, Hellenic Solution with 5% and MERA25 with 3%.
The percentage of those who are undecided is large, at 14.1%, while 5.6% of respondents answer “another party”.
At the same time, the citizens estimate that the elections will be held in the immediate future, specifically in the September-October period at a rate of 56%.
As can be seen from the table below, the number one factor that will determine the vote of the citizens is the economic situation of the country.
The findings showing how the respondents evaluate the government’s performance are also interesting. Big thorns for the ND are dealing with accuracy, crime, labor, education and health, fields in which it gathers the lowest percentages.
