Alberto Stasi, the first days of semi -freedom: “I will jump to the Pinacoteca di Brera, as soon as I can”

Eighteen years have passed after that August 13, 2007the day Chiara Poggi was found lifeless in Garlasco. The Cassation established Alberto Stasi’s guilt, then engaged to the student, condemning him to sixteen years in prison for his murder. Now, however, for the 41 -year -old a new phase begins: imprisoned in Bollate since 2015, he lived yesterday His first day of semi -freedom.

Outside the prison, few friends were waiting for him, ready to offer him an aperitif in Milan to celebrate this new phase of his life in a discreet way. But he declined. “Better to avoid,” he told Republic, “You know so much that I’m not a nightlife type. And then, a few days ago, a boy stopped me on the street. It makes me: “Beautiful uncle, I knew that you have nothing to do with it. Can we take a selfie?”. Now, I understand everything, I understand the notoriety, but better to avoid. AND Fortunately, many guys from now know what happened eighteen years ago and do not know my face».

The semi -freedom regime granted by the surveillance court allows him to Exit the morning from the prison of Bollate, where he lived so far, and return to the eveningfollowing precise times. He can move freely in the province of Milan, drive (the documents have been returned, including his license), attend bars, shops, cinema, lunch out of the workplace. He does not have the obligation to attend communities or carry out voluntary activities, but must still communicate and agree with the magistrates any different activity from the usual ones.

Meanwhile, Alberto Stasi continues to go to work. And there too, he says, he found understanding and reserve: “Colleagues have always been discreet in recent years. They know who I am and what I spent but they don’t go to the subject. They made me congratulations when the news of the semi -freedom granted by the court came, that yes ».

But Garlasco, for him, is a closed chapter. That country of Lomellina, where everything began and where his mother still lives, has become a place for him to avoid. “I can’t come back, despite my mother I still live there. I meet the relatives, I did it when I had the permits. And then, I say the truth, I don’t even have all this interest in going back. A little for what happened, a little because my life and interests are now between Milan and the hinterland, where I will look for a house when I will be able to ».

Stasi never speaks of Chiara. AND Not even appoints Andrea Semvethe new suspect, now involved in an alternative investigative track that has never followed. “We will talk about it again: now I have to return and feed myself on my stoist”.

More than ambitious projects, in its future there are small desires. “I will jump to the Pinacoteca di Breraas soon as I can. Or I will take a tour of the pavilions of the Rho Fair, when there will be an interesting event, since I pass the metro every morning. And then I could resume the racket in hand, it will be two years that I don’t play sports ».

The next step in the judicial path will be the assignment in proof of social servicesbut Stasi does not seem to be in a hurry. It seems to seek, more than anything else, silence.
