Albert Einstein Hospital Nursing receives unprecedented international seal

Nursing at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, in São Paulo, received this Thursday (21) the greatest recognition for the excellence of practices and strategies in the area in the world, the so-called Magnet seal.

The organization is the first in Latin America to win the title. Only 14 health centers outside the United States have this designation.

The Magnet Recognition Program, coordinated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), is conducted as a journey, with continuous monitoring of improvements based on international care and management indicators, validated every 3 years.

The designation considers a roadmap to ensure quality and safety in the practice of activities. Each participating organization defines the processes, according to its organizational culture, to meet the manual’s standards, which include five pillars: transformational leadership, exemplary professional practice, empowerment structure, innovation and empirical results.

Einstein increased the percentage of nurses with graduate degrees through financial support and performance evaluations. There was a reduction in the mortality rate in onco-hematological patients with acute kidney injury, with the development of the protocol for the use of lung ultrasound performed by nurses at the Dialysis Center between the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018.

“The improvement of care goes through each professional, who represents part of the effort to deliver safety and excellence throughout the patient’s journey. This recognition is yet another advance in the excellence of patient care by our health teams”, says Claudia Laselva, director of the Morumbi Hospital Unit at Einstein.

The proposal of the Magnet Recognition Program aims to ensure a health center with better outcomes for patients, in addition to a better working environment for the nursing team.
