Alarm in the capitols of six American states after bomb threats

The alarm sounded today at Capitols six US states after bomb threats, forcing security services to evacuate them as a precaution. In particular, state Capitols were evacuated Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi and Montana.

Strong police forces evacuated the building complexes, carrying out thorough checks, so far no explosives or other suspicious findings have been reported.

In Georgia, Mississippi and Montana, the authorities have already signaled the end of the alert. The Connecticut state capitol was briefly closed before reopening after police determined the threat was a hoax, the Middletown Press reports and the Athens News Agency reports.

In Kentucky, Gov. Andy Beshear said “everyone is safe” and that the state Capitol was evacuated so police could search the grounds. The Lexington Herald-Leader reported that bomb threats had been emailed to several state officials.

In Michigan, police announced that the state Capitol will remain closed today as a precaution after an e-mail containing a bomb threat was sent.
