To pressure the government to release salary increases, as they will do to the police, the category of federal agricultural tax auditors decided to schedule a meeting next Monday.
The category is subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture and responsible for inspecting agricultural products, such as food.
Like the tax auditors of the Revenue, who were indignant against the increase for police officers, the agricultural auditors also criticize the government.
In a statement, this Wednesday, the National Union of Agricultural Federal Tax Auditors (ANFFA Sindical) stated that it “protests against the fact that the Executive and the National Congress are leaving professionals out of the R$ 1.7 billion budget destined to to other federal careers, and ignore a category that is essential for Brazil’s food security.”
The category also says that “during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, auditors ensured the circulation of inspected and safer agricultural products for consumption by the Brazilian population and for the world, avoiding the risk of shortages”.
In addition to the salary adjustment, there is a charge for holding a public examination to replace 1,620 federal agricultural inspectors (affas) in the civil service.
