The future Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, stated that the PT continues to articulate the PEC of the Explosion in Congress, even after Minister Gilmar Mendes allowed Bolsa Família to remain outside the Spending Ceiling. Haddad’s speech was made this Monday morning (19), at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB), headquarters of the transitional government.
“As far as I am concerned, the negotiation remains because it is important for the country to bet on good politics, on negotiation, on institutionality, for us to give robustness to the economic policy that will be announced. And that will placate people and show that Brazil will be on the right path from January 1st”, said the future minister.
On Sunday night (18), Minister Gilmar Mendes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), determined that benefits intended to guarantee a minimum income for Brazilians be excluded from the spending ceiling. He also stated that the resources for increasing the Bolsa Família (currently Auxílio Brasil) can be obtained by opening an extraordinary credit through a provisional measure.
For Haddad, Minister Gilmar Mendes’ decision brings comfort to the families benefiting from the aid, who will not be left helpless in the event of what the minister called a “disagreement in the National Congress”.
“It is very important to provide families with comfort, and that there will be no damage to the more hesitant program created by President Lula, of income transfers that provide comfort to families. Very important, but we will preserve it in the path of institutionality and good politics”, declares Haddad.
Fernando Haddad will remain at the CCBB this Monday, and may announce new names for Treasury secretariats. According to CNN’s investigation, Haddad should announce the names of the secretaries who will command the National Treasury and the Attorney General of the National Treasury.
