After expert reports, PF must hear witnesses of Voepass accident in Vinhedo

The Federal Police (PF) is awaiting the production of reports on the site of the Voepass aircraft crash, in Vinhedo (SP), to begin hearings with company employees and witnesses of people who witnessed the accident.

According to sources close to the investigation, at least a first expert report could be ready this week. The full analysis by PF experts could take around 90 days.

The PF is also waiting for the sharing of information requested from Cenipa (Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents). The center linked to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) is working on decoding data from the aircraft’s black boxes.

With the reports in hand, investigators must begin the hearings. This information from the reports is important for the statements, as it can be the basis for questioning the witnesses.

According to federal agents, mechanics, bosses and owners of Voepass, the pilot’s family, as well as residents from the area surrounding the accident site may be heard.

For now, without the reports, federal agents believe it is premature to schedule hearings. The PF is focusing on identifying all victims as a priority. The work is being done in conjunction with the Forensic Medical Institute (IML), experts and pap smear experts from the state and federal police.

Experts specializing in identifying victims of disasters and air accidents worked to collect information using 3D scanners, laser equipment and drones with high-resolution images.

The accident reports are produced by the Scientific Technical Center of Campinas (SP) and the National Institute of Criminalistics, in Brasília.
