Agents from the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa), accompanied by agencies from France and Canada, completed the expert work inside a residential condominium in Vinhedo, in the interior of São Paulo, where a Voepass plane crashed last Friday (9), killing all 62 occupants.
On Monday (12), representatives of the airline and its insurance company will begin working at the accident site. They will collect all personal items that were carried in the cabin for cataloging and returning to family members.
The information was given by the director of Civil Defense of Vinhedo, Maurício Barone. “Delivering memory, dignity and respect to the families,” he described.
According to Barone, if genetic materials are found during this stage of collecting objects, the work must stop for further verification by experts.
After this stage of collecting personal items, Voepass must remove the plane’s fuselage from the site.
The expectation is that the entire removal will be completed by next Thursday (15), if there are no major delays in the schedule.
Work at the crash site is only being carried out during the day, in response to a request from residents of the condominium where the plane crashed. They have even given up their homes for the authorities to take shelter in and set up bases.
According to the municipal civil defense, two houses were affected and one was partially destroyed in the accident. The affected properties suffered damage to fences, walls and some latches as a result of the impact. The municipal Public Works Department will act on these cases after the remaining parts of the aircraft have been completely removed.
