After 7 years, Metallica returns with a new album this Friday (14)

Metallica woke fans up with a new album on the morning of this Friday (14). The news was given through the group’s official accounts on social networks.

The new work by James Hetfield and his bandmates is called “72 Seasons” . It is the band’s 11th album and features 10 new tracks already available on the main digital platforms. This release marks Metallica’s comeback after 7 years, since 2016’s ‘Hardwired… to Self-Destruct’.

The promotion of “72 Seasons” began in November 2022, with the single “Lux Æterna”. Months later, in an interview for an American radio, Hetfield commented that “there are many good things happening in life and you have to take advantage of them”, having this as inspiration for the title .

Repercussion and tour

According to data from Kworb, a site that informs music industry indexes, the “72 Seasons” is already among the top 200 most played releases on US iTunes . In Brazil, some fans also expressed their surprise and their opinions about ’72 Seasons’ on the internet.

Metallica has also announced the next dates for the M72 World Tour , the new album tour with concerts around the world, which begins on April 27 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The next presentations are scheduled in other European countries, in addition to the United States, Canada and Mexico, and there is still no forecast for a trip to Brazil.
