Last Wednesday (27), an operation coordinated by the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime of Rio de Janeiro (FICCO/RJ) resulted in the arrest of a woman who had been on the run for 18 years, accused of ordering the crime of qualified homicide against her ex-husband in 2001.
The accusation includes as a motivation for the crime the woman's intention to benefit from her ex-husband's life insurance. The arrest was made after a warrant was issued by the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The arrest took place in the municipality of Búzios, in the Lagos Region, where the suspect had been hiding since her conviction.
After being arrested, the woman was taken to the 126th Police Station in Cabo Frio, where she will remain at the disposal of the Court for the appropriate legal measures.
FICCO/RJ, made up of the Federal Police, Civil Police and Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro, aims to combat organized and violent crime in the state in an integrated manner.
