Afghanistan: Taliban take to the streets a man with car tires around his neck because he stole them

The Taliban walked a man on the streets of Jalalabad in Afghanistan wearing on his neck two car tires he had stolen.

According to the APE-MPE, the incident was reported by the Afghan Urdu website on its Twitter page, stating that the Taliban fighters were circling the man in a truck, after his arrest.

“A man was arrested in Jalalabad for stealing two car tires. “Both tires had passed through the thief’s neck, which they carried around the city”, the text states.

In the photos posted on this page, it appears that a man is standing in the body of the jeep next to the gunmen, from whose neck hang the tires that are painted in gold.

The punishment is a warning to other thieves, according to the Taliban, who have said they will bring order to the country by imposing harsh measures.
