He may not be calling for elections officially, due to a pandemic in theory, but Alexis Tsipras in each of his tours or public interventions, in this case from Komotini where he is tonight, escalates his attack on the Government, creating an artificial pre-election environment.
At this pace in which the SYRIZA president is moving – and because of – the extroversion he is trying to show on the way to the party congress in February, having the Pandemic and Accuracy at issue, he did not just launch a fierce attack on the Government and the Prime Minister. personally, as usual, but described him as an “outgoing prime minister” calling on him to leave “if he can not protect public health and the social majority”.
Styling his speech, among other things, he said about:
Pandemic – Accuracy
We are in a double whammy: The pandemic that threatens us all and accuracy. Thousands are trapped in this circle. However, the country is also under siege by Mitsotakis, who does not face the truth and the harsh reality. Makes critical decisions on its own instead of giving role and space to experts.
The biggest wall of immunity for the pandemic is trust and the government no longer has it. A caricature of the prime minister who has declared the end of the pandemic three times and continues to brag boldly.
The government has spent millions not to persuade citizens to be vaccinated but to force the media to hide the truth and incense Mr. Mitsotakis. Our country is a champion in deaths, people die outside the ICU and the prime minister tells us that the pandemic is “under control”, imagine it was not. We are entering the harshest winter of the last decade. No one can expect salvation or support from the Mitsotakis government.
Yes the pandemic affects the whole world. But Greece is the champion in death. Greece is also a champion in increasing electricity prices. There is an excuse for everything except the responsibility of the government itself.
Today we have reached the top of the EU in deaths but at the bottom in vaccinated. The tragedy has a name and its perpetrator cannot be hidden.
We did not make a strong and fierce opposition, we rightly promoted human life from the first moment of the pandemic and we put the political conflict in the background. We were constantly making proposals, we were proposing a common strategy for a committee to make the difficult decisions. We have done more than we deserve for political responsibility. Today it is our duty to demand an end to this catastrophic course.
If this government can not protect public health, does not want to make decisions at political cost to avoid a new lockdown, if it can not protect the social majority, then it is time to leave.
Mr. Mitsotakis failed in almost everything critical of what he promised. He knows this and the entanglement that supports him is that he is now an outgoing prime minister. They do not want to accept that SYRIZA-PS will win the next elections whenever they are held.
Pandemic measures
Increase resources for the health system over the medium term
Immediate strengthening of the hospital staff, including in the NSS all the medical staff that gave the battle of the pandemic and with the automatic announcement of all the organic positions that are vacant due to departures.
Compensation – without compensation – of the private sector hospitals for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 in both conventional beds and ICUs
Joining the network of all doctors working in the community (primary care of the NSS and individuals) and remuneration from the state of doctors treating patients with COVID-19.
Increase in the frequency of public transport routes.
By reducing the number of students per class.
A serious and credible public information campaign with the participation of the scientific community in order to dispel myths that create a climate for the development of the anti-vaccination movement.
Measures for accuracy
Increase of minimum wage 800 euros
Abolition of performance tax, regardless of profession and abolition of solidarity contribution for those civil servants, retirees, self-employed and farmers who have an annual income of up to 40,000 euros.
Extraordinary income support for farmers, with the return of the excise tax on diesel for farmers.
Write-off of part of the debts to the State and the insurance bodies for all the debtors and for the debts that were created during the pandemic period.
Reduction of the excise duty on heating oil, diesel and petrol, to the thresholds set by the European Union.
