A Russian military court today sentenced a man to 14 years in prison after finding him guilty of collaborating with a foreign state and “justifying terrorism,” Russian media reported today. Authorities initially charged 29-year-old Vladlen Menshikov with attempting to sabotage railway lines transporting military equipment near his hometown of Rez, a small village near the Urals city of Yekaterinburg, Vecherniye Vedomosti newspaper reported. He was subsequently charged with the other two charges and the charge of attempted sabotage was dismissed, the newspaper said, citing documents from the Yekaterinburg military court.
