A meteor hits his house, he hits the jackpot

The sky falls on his head, he becomes a millionaire. This is how to sum up in a few words the fabulous story of Josua Hutagalung, an Indonesian craftsman who makes coffins. So in the middle of the working day, at home, Josua is interrupted by the crashing sound of a small meteorite that fate has decided to land on his house. As The Independent tells it, the object pierced the roof before crossing the house and sinking 15 cm into the ground of his garden.

However, the father will not have to worry about the cost of repairs. If he has no idea what a meteorite that has fallen from the sky may be worth, Josua nevertheless has the object that has cracked its roof examined. A specialist confirms that this is a carbonaceous chondrite extremely valuable for scientific research. The object, which could be more than four billion years old, is estimated at 1.5 million euros.

The meteorite sold to an American specialist

Jared Collins, an American expert, was immediately informed of this event. “My phone kept ringing, I had to jump on the first plane and buy the meteorite. I transferred as much money as I could and went to find Josua, who turned out to be a skilled negotiator. Josua intends to realize his dream and build a church in Indonesia. He also hopes that this good news will bode well for his family life. “I have three boys but I always wanted to have a girl, I hope this meteorite is a sign from the sky that I will be lucky to have one now”.
