I did not know I love it, my friend Michele Monina introduced it to me, and he gave me a gift. Because his songs have a non-trivial sound and lyrics even less, which today, in Italian pop music are rare pearls (if the two things happen together, very rare).
His first album, for the Sound to be label, is called fantasy punk and they explain to us that «the record is a chat between two childhood friends, who as they grow up learn to discover the things of life, in their irony, bitterness and wonder». Which makes the idea a bit, but the advice is always to do a search on Spotify and all the other digital platforms and listen to some of his pieces.
Then it turns out that the title – which well illustrates the two souls of Lamo, i.e. the more childish and colorful one to the sharper and more uncomfortable one – also derives from something that happens in many families: that is the crippled name with which Lamo’s father erroneously called the band (Pentafunk) in which she played as a girl.
Because Lamo has always played, as a pianist and keyboardist. Her real name is Daniela Mornati, and if she first collaborated over the years with many artists of the Italian music scene including Max Gazzè, Bugo, SeltonDiego Mancino, Angelica, Paletti, to name a few, after meeting Rabbo Scogna (who composed the music with her) and Federico Carillo, she threw herself into the solo adventure.
She says she doesn’t know how to handle emotions well, and in fact at her first disc launch date in Milan, on April 29, she was very very excited. Featuring not only the album tracks but also a crazy Wet Leg cover (those by Chaise Longue), the audience lit up on the first single, As you arebut also up Leave me as you wish (brilliant: Lamo conceived it starting from the phrase found in the toilets of the autogrill, to apply the concept to a love story). OBI, a young promise from the Turin rap scene, also peeped out on stage, featuring on the album with Lamo.
