90-year-old grandfather fulfills his dream of graduating as a doctor of law

A 90-year-old Italian grandfather has shown us that age should not be an impediment to achieving our dreams, because sometimes people tend to give up just because of what they will say or because they feel ridiculous trying to embark on new paths when they consider that the time has passed. adequate time to do it.

Oscar Mattei is a cheerful grandfather who pampers his nine grandchildren, who are the descendants of his four children. In his productive years he was a tireless worker to get his family forward. The man worked as a tailor, book seller and even at some point in his life he sold sweets and soft drinks, but there was an illusion that he had saved “for later” in some corner.

At 85 years old, he saw the opportunity to fulfill his dream and this time he did not let it pass. Without hesitation, he enrolled at the University of Rome, as he had always dreamed of being a doctor of law.

His efforts and sacrifices paid off, since he managed to graduate with honors, as he was one of the most outstanding students, obtaining a grade of 100/110, one of the highest at the University of Rome.

Those who were his professors at the university praised his determination and commitment, even the rector of the House of Studies had excellent comments for the grandfather, whom he defined as a model student.

All my colleagues, much younger than me, saw me surprised by my energy and desire to continue.

But this triumph represented for him only the possibility of fulfilling a goal, because what he also wanted was to show his descendants the importance of never giving up.
