The extended list of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 was revealed this Thursday (16) and, among the selected restaurants, 9 Brazilian restaurants stand out between 51st and 100th place.
From the published list, the best placed Brazilian house is Puddle , in São Paulo, which appears in 56th place. Led by chef Tuca Mezzomo, the restaurant in Jardins has cuisine based on fire, coals and artisanal charcuterie.
Soon after comes the Fame Osteria in 57th position. Also in the capital of São Paulo, the original and intimate kitchen project is led by the chef Marco Renzetti which hosts a weekly tasting menu that is a true tour of modern Italy, attracting diners in its few seats.
In the 63rd comes the calf’s foot jelly in Rodrigo Oliveira , a pioneer for putting northeastern country food on the plate and spreading it throughout São Paulo. O Kotori in Thiago Bañares , the name behind Tan Tan, a staple among the best bars in the world, appears in 64th place. Next is the SUN in Alex Atala in 65th position.

50 best in Rio de Janeiro
In addition to the extended list of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, three other parallel awards have already been revealed.
Brazilian chef Janaína Torres Rueda was elected as the Best Chef in Latin America and Argentine chef Dolli Irigoyen was honored with the Icon of the Year award.
Finally, the Venezuelan restaurant Cordero, in the capital Caracas, was chosen as the revelation restaurant of the current edition, in which the restaurant works with a menu entirely dedicated to lamb meat.
The in-person ceremony that will reveal the list of the 50 best restaurants in Latin America in 2023 will take place on November 28th at Copacabana Palace, in Rio de Janeiro.
It is worth remembering that Brazil had 10 restaurants among the 50 best in Latin America in the last award list, with emphasis on A Casa do Porco, in the center of São Paulo, which won 4th place.
