Today, August 26, LG officially unveiled its new UltraGear OLED 45GR95QE gaming monitor, which is designed for gamers with the highest demands, as part of its own event before the IFA 2022 Electronics Show. For example, this model has a display diagonal of 45 inches – this is really a huge area, especially considering that the aspect ratio is 21:9. This means that 45 inches is actually real, and not as is the case with more widescreen options. In addition, the manufacturer decided to revive the fashion for curved monitors, which, it would seem, have completely left the market.
“Model 45GR95QE is the first LG monitor to combine a 45-inch matrix and 800R curvature,” the manufacturer’s official statement.
The radius of curvature of the matrix of this monitor is 800R, thanks to which, as the manufacturer himself claims, immersion in virtual worlds will be deeper and richer. It is worth recalling that this is exactly how gaming monitors with a curved matrix were advertised at one time, but gamers were not inspired by immersion. The monitor also boasts an OLED display, which is important for image quality, support for HDR10 and coverage of the DCI-P3 color space of 98.5%. Given that this is a gaming monitor and not a designer’s tool, the color reproduction is more than acceptable.
However, there is great news for gamers too. For example, this monitor operates at a matrix refresh rate of 240Hz and has a gray-to-gray response time of just 0.1ms. For an OLED matrix, this is an excellent indicator, but in general, there are plenty of monitors with such a response on the market. The monitor resolution is 3440 × 1440 pixels (this is a 2K resolution stretched wide), so there is no 4K resolution here, but the manufacturer has equipped its new product with support for Picture-by-Picture (PBP) and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) functions. ). In addition, the monitor has plenty of ports – there are two outputs for HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4 and a USB 3.0 hub.

The design of the monitor itself does not attract much attention – absolutely simple plastic with a small backlit diamond-shaped panel can be seen on the back side, quite standard frames are located on the front panel, and the stand is made in a V-shape. Unfortunately, so far the manufacturer has not spoken about prices or an approximate date of sale, but this information will probably appear soon after the end of the exhibition.
