20-year-old man is arrested on suspicion of hiding his best friend’s body in Baixada Fluminense, RJ

Police officers from the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station (DHBF) arrested a 20-year-old young man this Thursday (13), suspected of hiding his best friend’s body. The police are also investigating whether he killed the boy before hiding the body.

According to the police, Wesley Alves da Silva Souza was at his relatives’ house, in the city of Belford Roxo, when he was located.

The victim, Caio da Silva Rendão, aged 21, who had been missing since February, was reportedly killed due to a personal debt.

As soon as the disappearance was registered, the police began investigations, until on Tuesday (11), they found a body that could be Caio’s.

The investigation is awaiting expert examinations, but according to the Civil Police, Wesley Alves, who was arrested, confirmed that it was his friend’s body. Searches continue to be carried out because agents want to know if there are others involved in the crime.

Wesley was arrested for hiding a corpse and is being investigated for his participation in the homicide.
