The Civil Police launched last Tuesday (15), to an operation to dismantle a virtual criminal network responsible for co-opt and entitles you young people for illicit and risk practices, including hatred crimes, induction to self-mutilation and violence.
A 14 -year -old resident of Campo Grande (MS) was appointed as one of the bosses of this criminal organization, according to investigations.
The operation was nationally coordinated by the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police, in partnership with the civil police of seven states and support from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
In Mato Grosso do Sul, the Department of Corruption Suppression and Organized Crime fulfilled five search and seizure warrants, with technical support from the Forensic Computer Center of the Institute of Criminalistics.
At the 14 -year -old’s house computers, cell phones and documents were seized. He held a high position in the organization’s hierarchy and was responsible for the group’s so -called “criminal engineering”.
In Goiás, the State Police Station for Cybercrime Suppression Fulfilled Provisional Commission and Search and Seizure at the home of another teenager in Goiânia.
In all, the operation resulted in about 20 search and seizure warrants, two temporary arrests of adults and seven temporary adolescent hospitalizations in Mato Grosso do Sul, Santa Catarina, Sao Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais and Goiás.
According to investigations, the group was on encrypted platforms such as Discord and Telegram, attracting vulnerable teenagers to challenges involving self-mutilation, animal abuse, and hate speech dissemination. The most active young people received symbolic rewards as a stimulus to illegal conduct.
Investigated people may be responsible for criminal association, induction or instigation to self-mutilation, animal abuse and other crimes, with penalties that, added, exceed 10 years in prison.
