Attention horror fans! While 2020 seems to have come out of an apocalyptic horror movie, there is nothing better than enjoying a good feature film full of suspense, terrifying scenes and dead everywhere.
Whether you prefer the thrillers psychological or the typical tapes with blood and guts, this year the cinema will be filled with several films that will keep us on the edge of the seat. Here are the 12 titles that will arrive this year and promise more than one cry.
1. Morbius
Biochemist Michael Morbius tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but when his experiment fails, Michael turns into a strange vampire-like creature. The release date is not yet confirmed, but it could be between December of this year or January 2022.
2. Is there someone in your house
Makani Young decides to move to a small town in Nebraska after living in Hawaii to be with her grandmother and finish high school. But as the days go by, each of his companions begins to mysteriously disappear. Netflix will announce the exact release date this year.
3. A Quiet Place II
The Abbott family will have to face the horrors of the outside world and fight to survive in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they will discover that the creatures they so feared are not the only thing they must watch out for. It will premiere on May 28.
4. Last night in Soho
A young woman with a passion for fashion design mysteriously travels back in time and has the opportunity to meet her idol, a beautiful aspiring singer. But London in the 60s is not the lively and charming city that she believed. This film will be released on October 22.
5. Spiral: Saw
A mysterious criminal begins a terrible game in which detective Ezekiel Banks and his rookie partner William Schenk must investigate a series of horrific murders that will lead them to uncover a series of mysteries. It will premiere on May 21.
6. Candyman
Anthony and his partner discover the truth about Candyman’s ancient story and by wanting to use the ghoulish details in his studio for his next art show, Anthony will unleash a mysterious force filled with violence and death. It will hit theaters on August 27.
7. The Conjuring III: The Devil Made Me Do It
Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren attempt to uncover the truth behind a murder committed by a man who swears to have been possessed and controlled by the same demon that tormented his young son. On June 4, the third installment of this saga will be released.
8. Do not breathe 2
A blind man has been hiding for many years in a desolate cabin, raising a little girl who was orphaned after a terrible fire. Her quiet life is interrupted when a group of criminals kidnap her. It will premiere on August 13.
9. The Night House
Destroyed by the unexpected death of her husband, Beth is left alone in the lake house he built for her. But when a series of dreams begin to haunt her, Beth will discover that her beloved was hiding dark secrets. It will hit the screen on July 16.
10. Escape Room 2
After six people are trapped in an escape room whose creator designed a death trap for each room, the fate of Zoey and the other survivors will come to a terrible end with the long-awaited sequel. The film could arrive between December of this year and January 2022.
11. Malignant
Follow the story of two women trying to escape from a horrible monster. It is based on the original story by James Wan, Ingrid Bisu, and Akela Cooper. The premiere is scheduled for September 10.
12. Eve
Yakov Ronen agrees to take on the responsibilities of a shomer, the Jewish religious practice in which the body of a deceased must be cared for during the course of one night. However, the night takes a sinister turn. It just premiered on February 26.
